Posušje writer Radica Leko recently presented her latest novel, “Čovjek koji je tražio svoju dušu” (The Man Who Sought His Soul), at the kinodvorana in Posušje. The event, held within the “Posuško lito” manifestation, marked the release of her 16th book and sixth novel, continuing her prolific literary career with a powerful and emotional narrative exploring human trials and the search for life’s meaning.
Reviewers highlighted that the novel delves into universal themes such as love, sacrifice, human closeness, and life’s wanderings, while also bravely addressing the darker facets of human nature. Central to the narrative is the life of a Herzegovinian man, depicting his daily struggle for survival, the preservation of his family, and his identity. Through the protagonist’s destiny, Leko paints a broader picture of social dynamics, pointing to injustices that persist despite changes in societal systems.
Alongside the author, Ivan Baković and Branko Leko spoke about the novel, offering their insights. The program was moderated by Ljubo Begić on behalf of the organizers, HKD Napredak Podružnica Posušje. The event was reported by Radio Posušje.
The presentation generated considerable public interest, with the kinodvorana in Posušje filled to capacity. The audience attentively followed the discussions about the new work by one of Posušje’s most prolific writers. The evening concluded in an atmosphere of literary appreciation, thoughtful reflection on humanity and society, and discourse on values that continue to inspire literary creation amid contemporary challenges.
